Lockdown Weekend!

 

I have been so used to the weekend Lockdown that when it was done away with this weekend....I actually had to take a Monday off just to feel like a 2 Day off !! :)

Great time to hit Refresh!

I have obviously got ample time and while i was i thought there was a great opportunity for the Civic Agencies to use this time to make up for all the wrongs

If all proper precautions can be taken to prevent this Corona Virus then there could have been so much that could be achieved!

Imagine..all drains could be de-silted...everything flushed out..garbage, plastic, toxic waste.. it would solve the Water Logging problem to a major extent especially with the impending monsoons

All roads could be repaired/relaid etc etc

All electrical lines could be repaired and shifted to underground trenches,which could otherwise be quite challenging

All parks and public utilities could undertake major renovation/up-gradation

All Railway Coaches could be cleaned, full stripped and de-sanitized.... all the curtains, laundry and seats in the Coaches to be cleaned/washed, replaced/repaired
All electrical items too
Same for all railway stations and tracks.... All Stations are ridden with rats etc..it could be a great time to catch all of them and plug in the loop holes so that the danger with rat disease doesn't arise again

All State Transport Vehicles/Buses can do the same!

So on and so forth

To top it off the Govt would anyways be paying all these daily workers anyway during this lock-down! It would also prevent/abstain the daily wage workers to stay where they are and not return to their native villages. It will be easier to get them any food/medication etc as well if needed.
Solves a lot of issues with one single decision.

But then All necessary precautions has to be taken else this can backfire rather quickly with even a single case of Infection among the workers! and India isn't known to handle hygiene nicely ever!

Such has been this year so far!

It stared with a bang and boy-O-boy why am I not surprised!

I was quite anxious when we were all locked up inside our houses on the 22nd march, wasn't quite sure as to what/how it would be for so long.... but i was looking forwrd to be just home devoid of all worries....

Never had I ever...thought that the New FY will begin with a Big Zero!

Never had I ever...travelled on the First Day of the Year!

Its been a Lock-down since 22nd March and it continues.... Never had i ever thought i will be home with no work and enjoy it too!

Its a blessing spending time with kids..to see Araddhya attend his Online Classes...clarifying the simplest of doubts...just being around!
to witness Anveer's antics around the house ..his mischievousness with everyone in the House...his prompt responses..his funny faces....everything.

I am getting so used to this that it scares me ...what happens when all this over... and i have to return to Work again!

I will be doing the same 10 to 7.30 drills and be hell worried about everything beyond my control!

I like it this way...this has beyond doubt changed me and my future plans.

The ‘Pehle-aap, Pehle-aap’ thing isn't a joke.
Mind you, it happens here.
When asked why do we always speak in plural,
we always say it proudly ‘It’s a City of Nawabs and
this is the Nawabi style’.
We love it when we talk to non-lucknowities like
‘Ama yaar..’ and their eyes go wide.
If you don’t use words like Dhaansu’ and ‘Bhaukali’, dude you are missing half
of the fun.
If you come to Lucknow and miss the ‘Tunde-Kabab’ and 'waahib ki biryaani' (if in case you are
not a vegetarian) then I promise you will regret it for your entire life, like seriously!
The only place on earth, where even an abusive slang is sugar coated and prefixed with ‘AAP’
Like a dog hates water, we hate the word ‘TU’
We have the weirdest nomenclatures of places, Bhootnath, Daana-Paani,
Wire-less Chauraha, Hahnemann chauraha (often confused as Honeymoon chauraha ) and the list goes on.
When you hear ‘Phod dena’ as a good luck wish from someone, have no doubt, he/she
is definitely from Lucknow.
If you know all the ‘Khands’ of gomti-nagar, dude you deserve a standing-ovation.
We don’t need Sarcasm. We possess the ability to threaten someone to death with
sugar coated words. ‘Jugaad’, ‘rangbaaji’, ‘Setting’,'Maamla’,‘Scene’, 'tafri' ‘Mattergashti’ are the most frequent words used by us.
A, B, C, D, E are not just alphabets for us.They  refer to the blocks of Rajaji Puram
When whole India uses ‘Chutte’ for change, we use ‘Toote’ for the same thing.
If you don’t raise your eyebrows when you hear someone wearing ‘Chikan’ then
definitely you are a Lucknowite.
We have a special love for ‘Royal cafe’ and Chungfa,  no matter how many options we have to dine at we chose them without a second thought.
Every outing with your friends ends with an ice-cream on Marine Drive.
No matter you spend all your day at CCD or Barista, you still die for Sharma ki chai
and Chowk ki Lassi.
If you have not tasted Sharma's or King of Chat dude you don't know what chat
is!
You have been to Deva Sharif and Chandrika Devi for god knows how many times.
[actually you went there after all your exams to beg for passing marks!]
You know you are a real Lucknowite, if I.T. is Isabella Thoborn Girls college and
not Information Technology!
If an evening on the streets of Hazratganj [specially the Cathedral Church] is much more
fascinating than any Adventure park, then you are surely a Lucknowite.
If your house has at least one or two art pieces of Chinhat Pottery, you are a Lucknowite.
If you go fasting on a hot summer day, just to stay on a diet of Lucknawi Dasheri, you
are 'pakka Lucknow-wala'
You address your kaam-waali, rickshaw-wala and even a rag-picker as 'aap', that's not a
show-off its in our blood, our 'tehzeeb'
If you celebrate 'Bada mangal' and even organise and participate in a 'bhandara', then
you are Lucknowite.
If you save your pocket money just to shop enough in 'Lucknow mohotsav', you are
a Lucknowite.
You find it funny when people from so called 'hi- tech' cities go mad on seeing
historical monuments, because you have seen a so called historical monument every 500 meters
in old city.
When you know the congested lanes of Aminabad and also the wide and clean roads of
Gomti-nagar where you go racing with your friends,you are a Lucknowite.
May be the reason for our ‘Dhaansu Luck’ lies in the name of city itself.
After all I belong to ‘LUCK-NOW...!

Quite contrary to my Persona.... I haven't gone out for any Party this year... Am not half drunk..... Or faking to be enjoying the shite music....

I chose to be with Mudita and my kids... Hugging them.... Listening to Romantic numbers.... Over bonfire and mulled wine!

My only regret: Why did I Not do this earlier!
